What is collected

If you use the contact form, the site collects the details you submit in that form. If you subscribe to writing updates, the site collects your email address and any optional name you provide.

How it is used

Contact form submissions are used only to respond to your message. Newsletter subscriptions are used only to send updates about new writings and related subscription administration, such as confirmation emails, unsubscribe handling, and list hygiene.

Email delivery and list management

Newsletter delivery and subscription preferences are handled using Resend. That includes email delivery, unsubscribe handling, and suppression of addresses that bounce or mark messages as spam.

Consent and unsubscribe

Newsletter signups use email confirmation before being added to the list. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe mechanism. You can stop receiving writing updates at any time.

Imported subscribers

If you subscribed through an earlier newsletter provider such as Substack or Medium, your contact details may be imported into this system so future writing updates can be sent from the site directly. Imported contacts are kept only for writing updates and may unsubscribe at any time.

Data retention

Contact and newsletter records are retained only as long as they are useful for the purposes above, including maintaining unsubscribe and suppression records so you are not re-added or emailed again by mistake.
